  • Preheat the pan on the stove for a few minutes before adding the fish. This creates a nice crust on the fish and will prevent the meat from falling apart later on.
  • Serve with a side of seasonal vegetables of your liking, just like in Outback Steakhouse restaurants.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when the salmon is done?

Check the thickest part of the fish with a knife or fork. The fish is cooked if the meat is slightly flaky. It’s fine if the flesh inside is still a bit translucent. You can then cook it for a longer time to adjust to your liking.

How do I grill salmon correctly?

Salmon is already a fatty fish so there’s no need for excess oil. However, if you have skinless fillets, you can add a thin layer of oil on the pan and heat till it shimmers. Use an oil with a high smoke point, like canola oil. Also use the right kind of charcoal. Charcoals that are made from hardwood is a great choice because it burns at a higher temperature and can shorten the grilling time. Of course, you need to make sure that the grill is hot before putting the fish.
